News Blake 9.82 at ISTAF Berlin

blakeDaeguBERLIN (GER) - The jubilee 90th ISTAF at Olympic Stadium in Berlin saw new meet record and 9.82 (+0.1) by world champion Yohan Blake in his last race at this distance 2011. Superb 51 182 spectators saw plenty of action and in total four meet records. "I was a little lazy at the start here," said Blake, whose run nonetheless solidified his hold on the No. 7 spot all-time. "I could have run 9.7 easy." Writes IAAF. Behind him, Kim Collins, the Daegu bronze medallist, clocked a 10.01 season's best, with Trinidad & Tobago's Richard Thompson third in 10.08. Spectators waited for home throwing wins.

  They got it from Robert Harting who remains unbeaten this season with 67.22 over Gerd Kanter 66.16. Betty Heidler got her revenge in hammer after Daegu with meet record 77.40 over Tatyana Lysenko 74.67. Christina Obergfoll lost the javelin (64.95) to Barbora Spotakova (67.14). World champion Mariya Abakumova was third (64.34). Silke Spiegelburg beat a top pole vault field with 471 in second attempt and tried also at German record height of 481.

MEN

400 m: Kirani James ended his season unbeaten in 45.33.

1500 m: Fast race for Choge 3:31.14 ahead of Iguider 3:31:60 and DR winner Chepseba 3:31.66. Fourth Moroccan Moustaoui lifetime best 3:31.84 and fifth Ilham Tanui Turkish record and European lead 3:32.23.

SC: Koech wins in meet record 8:04.48, second Nganga improves to 8:05.88.

400mH: Gordon of Trinidad wins in 48.66, with world leader Van Zyl last (52.78).

HJ: World champ Williams cleares 233 beating Bahamian Barry 230.

LJ: Russian Menkov 815 beats world champ Phillips 805.

SP: Meet record for US Whiting 21.61 in strong field ahead of Hoffa 21.47, Majewski 21.33, Armstrong 21.33 and world champ Storl 20.64.

WOMEN

100 m: Baptiste was the fastest in 11.15 (+0.9) ahead of Simpson of Jamaica 11.24.

400 m: Russian win for Daegu bronze holder Kapachinskaya 50.75 beating US McCorory 50.91.

800 m: Jepkosgei returned to Semenya Daegu in 1:58.26 over 1:58.74.

100mH: Harper in 12.68 (+0.4) over Wells 12.74.
