Daegu brings full start list

DAEGU (JAM) - The first preliminary start list of the Colorful Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting, on May 12, 2011 (fourth of the IAAF World Challenge meetings this year) was published. Fast sprints are expected as well as distance races with a high quality of field events.

Superb duel of three US athletes is expected in women 100 m hurdles. Olympic winner Dawn Harper is back and will compete against world indoor champion Lolo Jones and last indoor fastest Kellie Wells. World leader Carmelita Jeter is the star of the 100 m and will aim for third win in a row here (10.83 meet record in 2009).

At men´s 800 m we should see Kenyan Boaz Lalang and in the women 1500 m Ethiopian World Indoor Champion Kalkidan Gezahegne is scheduled against her team-mate Tizita Bogale.

In the technical events, German record holder Silke Spiegelburg is the star of women pole vault, Russian 2004 Olympic winner Yelena Slesarenko of women high jump. Men´s javelin throw has Cuban Guillermo Martinez and Japanese Yukifumi Murakami in the field. European champion Martina Hrasnova, SVK, is returning after she gave a birth to her daughter, in the women´s hammer throw to fight with Tatyana Lysenko of Russia.
