Chicherova 202, Oliver 13.16, Gatlin 9.91 in Beijing Wednesday, 22 May 2013 08:54 BEIJING (CHN, May 21): Beijing meet debuted in the IAAF World Challenge (as part of preparation for 2015 Worlds) with two world leads and excellent men 100 m race. Some 50 000 spectators in good weather saw in Birds Nest Olympic winner Anna Chicherova clearing in second attempt as first this summer 2+ (202) and trying then at 204. Second Ana Simic of Croatia equaled her 195 PB. In the hurdles duel David Oliver after excellent start clocked 13.16 WL (+0.3) clearly over Dwight Thomas 13.44 and Jason Richardson 13.48.

New IAAF World Challenge meeting in Beijing Friday, 23 November 2012 10:42 BARCELONA (ESP): The IAAF Council presided over by President Lamine Diack began the first of a two-day session in the Arts Hotel, Barcelona, ahead of the weekend of IAAF Centenary celebrations in the Catalonian capital. In the IAAF World Challenge Circuit new meet was approved, the Beijing World Challenge in China on May 21.

BEIJING preview: Gatlin, Felix and Russian stars Tuesday, 21 May 2013 09:57 BEIJING (CHN): IAAF World Challenge will debut on Tuesday in Beijing, China. The Bird´s Nest will see Justin Gatlin in the 100 m against Mike Rodgers and Doc Patton along with national record holder Zhang Peimeng. LaShawn Merritt is the star of the 200 m race. US stars David Oliver and Jason Richardson will battle in the hurdles. In women sprints Blessing Okagbare is the top name in women 100 m and olympic winner Allyson Felix in the 200 m. Walcott first pro meet agreed for Ostrava Wednesday, 21 November 2012 09:44 OSTRAVA (CZE): While Ostrava City Stadium is under reconstruction and looks currently like a big construction site the organisers of 52nd Ostrava Golden Spike meet (IAAF World Challenge) announced first top names for next June 27. Among them home stars and European champions Pavel Maslak for the 400 m and Vitezslav Vesely for javelin. Meeting director Jan Zelezny was specially happy that the biggest olympic athletics surprise Keshorn Walcott from Trinidad will come to the meet for his event.

Ana Claudia great 11.05 at 100m in BELEM Monday, 13 May 2013 08:01 BELEM (BRA, May 12): At the 29th Grande Prêmio Brasil Caixa/Governo do Pará de Atletismo in Belem (IAAF World Challenge) the top result was the new South American 100 m record by Ana Claudia Silva of Brazil 11.05 (+1.7). Also the only meet record of the event. Second and third US sprinters Mikele Barber 11.15 and Chauntae Bayne 11.18. Fourth Rosangela Santos also good 11.23.
